Public Safety

Hopewell Police Station.

Hopewell, Virginia

RRMM worked closely with the City Police Chief and his staff, as well as the Director of Public Works, to design the city’s first standalone policing facility. The new, one-story building houses various policing functions including the Chief’s command suite, administrative/records offices, patrol platoon areas, roll call room, investigations bullpen and offices, interview rooms, property and evidence, and emergency consolidated dispatch center. The new facility is sited adjacent to the existing City Hall which it is connected to through a pedestrian plaza. The project also includes a new secure cruiser and staff parking lot, and a curbside warrant window. The exterior has been purposefully designed to complement the materials, architectural style, and colors of the existing and nearby Beacon Theatre.

“You guys have been very quick to respond on this project. I have worked with many architectural firms on construction projects over the years. You guys rank among the best in response time.” – Edward Watson, Director, City of Hopewell Public Works
