High School K-12 Education
C.D. Hylton High School.
Prince William County, Virginia
C.D. Hylton High School is one of four high school prototypes for Prince William County that was built in the 1990s. Minimal renovations and system upgrades had been completed since its original construction. The RRMM team was tasked with designing a complete renewal for the 270,000 SF high school. The design replaced outdated HVAC equipment with energy efficient systems, renovated educational spaces to meet 21st century school goals, and replaced and refreshed all existing finishes. Also included was a 2,400 SF addition for a new music room.
This is the first time that Prince William County Public Schools has undergone a renewal of one of their high schools. RRMM’s work on this project will act as a blueprint for future renewals of other high schools in the County.
