CTE K-12 Education
Roanoke County CTE Center.
Roanoke County, VA
The Roanoke County CTE Center design emphasizes and celebrates the building’s function as a catalyst for both educational and economic development for Roanoke County and the surrounding region. The CTE programs within Roanoke County are growing and are projected to continue to see growth. The need for a properly trained and skilled workforce is evident, and while the existing Burton Center for Arts and Technology has served the County well, the popularity of the offered programs has far outpaced the size of the existing facility.
The building will have a civic presence, and its prominence on the site will reinforce its importance to the community. The primary goals of the proposed building design are to create a functional layout that maximizes all available program area through efficient design, to create synergies between all of the CTE programs through strategic space planning of adjacencies, and to provide dynamic learning spaces that inspire CTE students to learn skills and trades that prepare them for future careers.
The new Roanoke County CTE Center is anticipated to be fully constructed by January 2027. The new CTE will be approximately 123,500 square feet.
