As one of RRMM’s largest park projects to date, this project included site evaluation, master planning, and the subsequent design and construction of the complex. The 90-acre park and playground contains horseshoe, volleyball and basketball courts, a fire pond for the Chesapeake Fire Department, two dog parks, a skate park, an outdoor fitness area, picnic shelters, a Fun Forest playground, an outdoor stage, and a 1,400 SF restroom facility. Site work included entrance roads, access roads, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and domestic water.
Winner of one of Virginia Recreation and Parks Society “Best New Facility in Virginia” awards, a beloved family feature of Chesapeake City Park is Fun Forest. Spanning three acres, Fun Forest is the ultimate children’s playground, imagination, and adventure area.
