The Position

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Manager to join our team and work on-site in our Chesapeake, VA office. You will be responsible for overseeing and administering all aspects of the HR department, including recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong, hands-on background in HR processes and procedures, excellent communication, and the ability to effectively manage programs and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, conducting and/or coordinating interviews, and on-boarding.
  • Act as on-site contact for employees in the Chesapeake office, and as a remote contact for employees in other offices.
  • Oversee benefits administration (Health and Welfare, Leave Administration and 401(k), including enrollment, changes, and terminations).
  • Coordinate performance management processes, including goal setting, coordination of performance reviews by senior staff, and development plans.
  • Handle employee relations matters and provide guidance on conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with managers to identify training needs and develop training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain a compliant Employee Handbook.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or policy violations as needed.
  • Manage and/or coordinate with designated staff on HR programs such as employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and recognition programs.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Assist in the immigration process.
  • Utilize HRIS systems to maintain accurate employee records and produce required reports.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field strongly encouraged.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information effectively.
  • Proven experience in program management and process improvement.
  • Experience in benefits administration and knowledge of current regulations. Experience dealing with external benefits partners.
  • Experience with performance management processes and tools.
  • Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Experience in a multi-site, Professional Services environment preferred.
  • Personable, friendly, approachable.
  • Limited travel to branch offices may be required.
