Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage the full cycle recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, conducting and/or coordinating interviews, and on-boarding.
- Act as on-site contact for employees in the Chesapeake office, and as a remote contact for employees in other offices.
- Oversee benefits administration (Health and Welfare, Leave Administration and 401(k), including enrollment, changes, and terminations).
- Coordinate performance management processes, including goal setting, coordination of performance reviews by senior staff, and development plans.
- Handle employee relations matters and provide guidance on conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with managers to identify training needs and develop training programs.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain a compliant Employee Handbook.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or policy violations as needed.
- Manage and/or coordinate with designated staff on HR programs such as employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and recognition programs.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Assist in the immigration process.
- Utilize HRIS systems to maintain accurate employee records and produce required reports.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field strongly encouraged.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information effectively.
- Proven experience in program management and process improvement.
- Experience in benefits administration and knowledge of current regulations. Experience dealing with external benefits partners.
- Experience with performance management processes and tools.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Experience in a multi-site, Professional Services environment preferred.
- Personable, friendly, approachable.
- Limited travel to branch offices may be required.
