The Position

The Payroll/Accounting Administrator will be responsible for supporting payroll and accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll and financial transactions. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting and payroll principles, and the ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $85,000. Compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to candidate’s qualifications, skills, relevant experience, education, and certifications.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare and process biweekly & out of cycle payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and Federal/State/Local regulations.
Maintain payroll records, including employee information, deductions, and benefits.
Reconcile payroll related accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with month-end closing activities, including payroll account reconciliations and accruals.
Assist with monthly project billing activities.
Communicate with employees and internal departments to resolve payroll and accounting inquiries.
Assist in the preparation of annual compliance reporting related to payroll.
Assist with monthly project invoicing reviews.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations, especially areas related to payroll.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, preferably in a mid-sized organization (100+ employees) with biweekly payroll cycles.
Experience using Paylocity or similar cloud-based payroll systems (including time & attendance and reporting features).
Solid working knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local tax requirements.
Strong understanding of payroll components, including earnings, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and multi-state taxation (if applicable).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated ability to process payroll accurately and meet strict deadlines in a high-volume environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with HR, finance, and employees to resolve payroll-related inquiries.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
