Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the BIM Director in developing, implementing, and maintaining BIM standards, workflows and protocols.
- Support project teams in model setup, coordination and clash detection using industry standard BIM software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D)
- Assist co-workers with BIM and Revit issues related to their projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design and coordination issues.
- Assist in preparing BIM executive plans and documentation for project stakeholders.
- Use 3D scanning equipment to capture high-resolution images and data of objects, structures, or environments.
- Set up and calibrate 3-D scanners according to project requirements.
- Conduct scans in various settings, including indoor and outdoor environments.
- Process and analyze scanned data to create accurate 3-D models.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure data accuracy and project success.
- Maintain and troubleshoot scanning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document scanning procedures and results for future reference.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in 3-D scanning technology and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Two-year technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Two plus years of proven experience operating 3-D scanning equipment and software.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in 3-D modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment and software issues.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license to travel to project sites.
- Experience and working knowledge with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit experience.
- Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC).
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in 3-D scanning technology and techniques.
- Use Laser Scanning Technology to scan existing conditions of buildings, and sites.
- Knowledge of architecture and engineering industry/building design.
- Register, clean, and prep scanned point clouds for use in BIM software.
- Use BIM software to create models from point clouds.
