A distinct feature of this 700-student school design is the clear separation of grade levels through the use of academic houses. In addition to classrooms, the grade-level houses hold common spaces, teacher centers and restroom cores. The common spaces also provide flexible, non-programmed pull-out space for small groups or one-on-one opportunities. The arrangement of the gym and cafeteria allows for the sharing of the two spaces for special large-group events. The media center is centrally located and accessible to the public, complete with natural lighting that streams in through clerestory windows.
