The design of Florence Bowser Elementary, which contains pre-K through 5th grade, is based on a previous prototypical design for Suffolk Public Schools. The design was updated to incorporate multiple project-based learning environments, which offer an extension of the classroom for adaptable and collaborative learning spaces. Coupled with flexible furnishings, the latest technology and creative design solutions, the spaces are intended to stimulate and inspire students, enhancing their educational experience.
The design also features tiered seating areas that are centrally located adjacent to the grand stairs. This allows multiple classes, or even grade levels, to gather for presentations. These new design features have helped update Suffolk’s newest school by providing a fun and dynamic learning environment for its students.
