This design-build project with Homeland Contracting, was designed with Waller, Todd & Sadler Architects and consolidated three existing schools, providing space for 750 pre-kindergarten through 5th-grade students. The guiding principles of this design were to provide physical environments that complement the 21st Century Learning philosophies. These philosophies aim to improve students’ academic, social, and physical development.
The defining educational arrangement is the grouping of learning studios and learning labs into neighborhoods. This layout addresses the need for collaborative and project-based learning while allowing the flexibility of utilizing various-sized groups and furniture configurations. The remainder of the building is organized around a centralized administrative core, offering a secure central entry that is easily accessible.
