The Position

We are seeking a full-time 3D scanning technician who will be responsible for obtaining accurate and complete scans using modern laser scanning equipment. Some travel to project locations throughout Virginia will be required to complete the scan projects. This position will work closely with RRMM project managers along with client representatives for scheduling access to facilities and project milestones. They will complete the scan work in office to combine and prep scans for final submission to client. Between scanning projects, they will work closely with the BIM manager on the implementation of new RRMM Revit Standards. This position will also assist RRMM employees with BIM and Revit issues related to their projects and help the BIM manager enforce RRMM Standards throughout company.

Job Responsibilities:

Use Laser Scanning Technology to scan existing conditions of buildings, bridges, and sites.
Register, clean and prep scanned point clouds for use in BIM software.
Use BIM software to create models from point clouds.
Assist in day-to-day help desk questions that relate to BIM software.

Qualifications and Skills:

Ability to work in an office environment.
Motivated self-starter.
Able to problem solve specific issues.
Passion for learning new skills and technologies.
Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD experience.
Knowledge of Architecture and Engineering industry/building design.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
Walking and standing for extended periods of time.
Ability to climb ladders on occasion.
Possess a valid Virginia Driver’s license
