ODU LR Hill Sports Complex Addition

Southeast-Rendering---Option-2RRMM Design Build, LLC was recently awarded the construction of the L.R. Hill Sports Complex addition at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.

This 17,000 SF addition is being built on a site with extremely limited space, immediately adjacent to the existing LR Hill Sports Complex which will remain operational throughout the construction period. The two buildings will connect along the south side of the existing complex. All exterior brick and cast stone finishes will match the existing structure, with a new second main entrance composed of curtainwall and metal panels on an aluminum solar fin shade system. The interior will consist primarily of a fully equipped new weight room designed to hold a large quantity of weight machines but will also include a mezzanine dedicated to cardio equipment. The first floor also features staff offices, a locker room and lounge for the coaching staff, and a nutrition center.

Construction began Winter 2016 and RRMM Design Build’s Magali Insley is the Project Manager.

Virginia Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center

Revised concept elevation

RRMM Design Build was contracted by Dr. Brian Johnson to design and construct his new Norfolk location. Dr. Johnson’s practice, Virginia Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center (VDSCC) will occupy the majority of this 15,710 SF, two story medical building. Specializing in MOHS surgery for skin cancer treatment, this state of the art office features four designated MOHS surgical procedure rooms and private waiting area as well as a spacious main reception/waiting area with restrooms conveniently located for client accessibility. Behind this six person reception desk are offices for the Office Manager and Clinical Manager, four provider staff offices and six work stations for Medical Assistants and six exam rooms.

The VDSCC Day Spa will occupy the majority of the second floor. This upscale Spa is a continuation of VDSCC’s skin cancer treatment and prevention philosophy and will offer treatments such as medical grade facials and microdermabrasion treatments. The Spa has a spacious reception/waiting area with a custom product display area, a consultation room, four cosmetic treatment rooms, a full client restroom with a shower and a staff restroom. Amenities for the entire VDSCC staff are located on the second floor and include a conference room for training and meetings and a staff kitchen/break room.
